Under the supervision of the department manager, the material handler forklift operator must use different types of forklifts and manual and electric pallet jacks to move pallets in tight spaces.

Role and Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the preparation of raw materials according to the scheduling established by the team leader
• Update the "Factory track" tool for all stock movements or inventory errors (e.g., negatives)
• Communicate with the team leader any inaccuracies in the inventory
• Ensure that all machines/work cells have a continuous flow of raw materials to avoid shortages
• Ensure that all workstations have enough material to perform palletizing of finished pieces (wood pallets, foam, cardboard, box, packaging container, etc.)
• Empty internal scrap bins, cardboard, plastic, and wood bins at appropriate locations
• When the material handler's intervention is necessary, support the rework of defective pieces from all departments
• Use forklifts, manual or electric pallet jacks, and overhead cranes to move material while considering the safety of oneself and the environment; inspect and maintain them on a daily basis
• Attend training to maintain qualifications and may be asked to train other staff members
• Support the supply chain team in all other inventory-related initiatives
• If applicable, support the "Materials Coordinator and Receiver" in these tasks when required or in case of absence
• Required Knowledge and Skills
• Experience in operating forklifts (essential)
• Valid forklift operator training
• Knowledge of the MK - Atout system
• Ability to plan and organize work in anticipation of deadlines
• Excellent work organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
