Are you a detail-oriented person? Are you comfortable in a work environment that combines document management, use of computer solutions, and customer service?

Become a reception and file preparation agent for medical evaluation at the Medical Evaluation Bureau (BEM) of the Ministry of Labour.

  • This position is performed in person.
  • Located at 200 Sainte-Foy Street, Québec
  • Expected start date in October

An occasional position for a duration of 1 year minus 1 day.

Salary from $44,288 to $58,569 per year, depending on experience1

Challenges to Overcome!

The person holding this position is responsible for preparing and assigning worker files to BEM members. They also welcome workers during their medical evaluation meetings.

More specifically, the person holding this position must:

  • Enter, validate, prepare, and process medical evaluation files in the internal management system.
  • Assign files to doctors based on priorities and their availability.
  • Verify the compliance of requests, ensure the presence of required documents, and follow up on incomplete or non-compliant files with the Commission for the Safety, Health, and Quality of Life at Work (CNESST).
  • Determine appropriate medical specialties based on diagnoses and associated needs for files.
  • Coordinate appointments by preparing invitations, communicating with workers, and confirming their attendance.
  • Ensure communication with workers, doctors, CNESST, and other stakeholders to resolve file-related issues.
  • Welcome workers, collect and validate their information, and register them in the management system.
  • Manage visitor access and produce attendance reports.
  • Answer phone calls, process messages, and forward information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure the smooth running of daily appointments.
  • Manage mail, faxes, file updates, archiving, and document filing.

Desired Profile and Application Procedures

Job Requirements:

  • Hold a diploma in professional studies in the field of administration, secretarial work, accounting, or any other relevant field, or an equivalency certificate recognized by the competent authority.

The application of a person who is in the process of completing the final year of studies required to obtain the required diploma may be considered.

Or

  • Hold a secondary school certificate equivalent to the 11th grade or a 5th year of secondary school recognized by the competent authority, or an equivalency certificate recognized by the competent authority, and have one year of relevant experience for the administrative support agent class.

For consideration, any schooling completed outside of Canada must be subject to a comparative evaluation (equivalency certificate) issued by the Ministry of Immigration, Francization, and Integration.

The candidate who does not have the required year of experience is admitted on the condition that they compensate for the missing year of experience with one year of post-secondary education with relevant training for the administrative support agent class.

  • Possess Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or a work permit issued by the federal competent authority to occupy a position in the Quebec Public Service.

A person awaiting proof of permanent resident status or a work permit issued by the federal competent authority may be considered. However, they must be authorized to work legally in Canada at the time of their appointment.
