What you will accomplish with us
As a Deputy Director of the North American Payroll Service, you will be at the heart of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:
- Exercise mobilizing leadership by developing a team, ensuring performance management, talent development, and succession planning
- Take overall responsibility for Canadian and American payroll operations, including tax and regulatory compliance
- Define and evolve the organizational structure, priorities, and objectives of your sector in line with business directions
- Lead the optimization of HR operations and processes by eliminating operational issues and fully leveraging system capabilities, including Workday and artificial intelligence
- Act as a strategic partner to stakeholders and contribute to the implementation of major initiatives and projects
- Represent your sector to the executive team by communicating directions, results, and key issues
- Drive continuous improvement and transformation of payroll processes by leveraging innovation and new technologies (artificial intelligence)
- Establish performance indicators and a governance framework to optimize results and support decision-making
- Ensure rigorous management of operations and projects, including planning, priorities, timelines, and deliverable quality
- Implement control, audit, and quality assurance mechanisms and intervene strategically in cross-sectoral issues
- Exercise influential leadership in transformation initiatives, system migration, and mergers and acquisitions

- We are looking for someone who:
- Is recognized for their mobilizing leadership and ability to coach and positively influence multisite teams
- Stands out for their strong technical expertise in Canadian and American payroll
- Demonstrates a great capacity for organization, priority management, and time management
- Is recognized for their excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Has 15 years of relevant experience in payroll management or related fields, including 10 years in management
- Bachelor's degree in administration in a relevant discipline
- Advanced knowledge in the field of HR operations and payroll
- Advanced level of English language proficiency since the person will be required to communicate with employees and partners in Canada and the United States, train bilingual teams, and participate in regular English meetings
- Proficiency in the Workday system, a valuable asset
