Description

The Information Technology Foundation Technology Sector of the Information Technology Direction is seeking a Networking Specialist Information Resources Administrator to join the team dedicated to this area of expertise. The incumbent will be assigned to the Foundation Technology Sector, which is responsible for all products related to institutional technological infrastructure (network, storage, servers, data center, databases, etc.). The person sought will contribute to all activities related to the maintenance and upkeep of the University's networking infrastructure, the analysis and resolution of operational issues and challenges, and the implementation of various projects or evolutions under the responsibility of the team.

In addition to the characteristic responsibilities related to the position, the person will have to:

  • Analyze existing solutions to ensure their maintenance and evolution;
  • Analyze upcoming solutions to enable their integration into the existing ecosystem and/or cloud infrastructure and recommend improvements or modifications based on the needs and challenges of the client and the institution;
  • Ensure quality control during the planning of new integrations' deployments or changes to existing integrations;
  • Conduct a technological watch to improve the existing service and implement new features and products;
  • Collaborate with resources from other teams (support, infrastructure, databases, etc.);
  • Accompany technicians in understanding the files and developing their expertise;
  • Participate in the implementation of the networking services offer and the deployment of new projects in this field;
  • Write and maintain up-to-date documents according to the DTI's regulatory framework: assembly guides, installation and configuration guides, technical follow-up needs (BST) and operation procedures.

The technological environment in which the person will work includes, among others, the following elements:

  • Cisco, Aruba, Nexus and Juniper switches
  • Checkpoint, Cisco, Fortinet firewalls
  • Cisco, Aruba wireless network controllers
  • Bluecat network DNS/DHCP server
  • ACI datacenter solution
  • SNMP monitoring solution
  • Aruba centralized management console
  • Clearpass NAC solution
  • Aruba Central (COP)
  • WLAN controllers

Desired Profile

  • Significant experience in the deployment and operation of the elements composing the DTI's technological environment;
  • Ability to write functional and technical documentation;
  • Knowledge in the field of computer security, particularly in networking;
  • Mastery of spoken and written French;
  • Functional spoken and written English.

Will be considered as assets

  • Previous relevant experience in networking management within public, para-public, or private organizations;
  • Cross-cutting knowledge in computer science (infrastructure products, operating systems, etc.);
  • Knowledge of Agile and Kanban methods.

The resource may sometimes need to be available to perform tasks outside normal working hours.
