EDM Machine Operator (Second Shift)
Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (Second Shift)
Meyer Tool is seeking an EDM Machine Operator to run multiple machines efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setup, operation, inspection, and basic maintenance while ensuring all parts meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate EDM machines (including loading/unloading parts)
- Inspect parts using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Prepare and change electrodes as required
- Monitor production and troubleshoot issues during operation
- Maintain accurate production records and system entries
- Perform minor maintenance and keep machines clean
- Track materials and manage workflow within the cell
- Ensure all parts meet specifications before sign-off
- Track scrap and support corrective actions
- Operate 2 or more machines simultaneously
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Requirements
- Canadian citizen or valid work permit
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong machining aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Reliable attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EDM machining
- Experience in conventional machining (milling, drilling, turning)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Standing and moving throughout the shift
- Lifting up to 35 lbs (16 kg)
- Use of required PPE
- Loud manufacturing environment

- Monitor production and troubleshoot issues
- Complete reports and data entry
- Perform minor machine maintenance
- Track materials
- Verify part compliance
- Track scrap and initiate corrective actions
- Operate 2 or more machines simultaneously
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements
- Canadian citizenship or valid work permit
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Machining aptitude
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Proficiency with measuring instruments
- Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances
- Ability to follow instructions
- Reliability and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
