EDM Machine Operator (Second Shift)

Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (Second Shift)

Meyer Tool is seeking an EDM Machine Operator to run multiple machines efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setup, operation, inspection, and basic maintenance while ensuring all parts meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate EDM machines (including loading/unloading parts)
• Inspect parts using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Prepare and change electrodes as required
• Monitor production and troubleshoot issues during operation
• Maintain accurate production records and system entries
• Perform minor maintenance and keep machines clean
• Track materials and manage workflow within the cell
• Ensure all parts meet specifications before sign-off
• Track scrap and support corrective actions
• Operate 2 or more machines simultaneously
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Requirements

• Canadian citizen or valid work permit
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong machining aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Experience using precision measuring tools
• Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Reliable attendance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EDM machining
• Experience in conventional machining (milling, drilling, turning)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Standing and moving throughout the shift
• Lifting up to 35 lbs (16 kg)
• Use of required PPE
• Loud manufacturing environment

• Inspect parts using measuring tools
• Prepare and change electrodes
• Monitor production and troubleshoot issues
• Complete reports and data entry
• Perform minor machine maintenance
• Track materials
• Verify part compliance
• Track scrap and initiate corrective actions
• Operate 2 or more machines simultaneously
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Requirements

• Canadian citizenship or valid work permit
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Machining aptitude
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Proficiency with measuring instruments
• Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances
• Ability to follow instructions
• Reliability and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EDM machining
• Experience in conventional machining
