Day Laborer - Preparation Assistant (Masking, Sandblasting)

For over 65 years, Vac Aero International's plant in Boucherville has been working in the field of metallurgy and materials engineering. It specializes in thermal spray coating processes designed to improve the wear and corrosion resistance of parts, as well as their mechanical resistance and lifespan. Its services are aimed at the aerospace, automotive, energy, and defense sectors.

What we offer?

Evening shift: 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Friday. *Initial training takes place on the quarter shift, from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, and 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday* (40 hours per week).

• Wage: $23.13 to $24.16 per hour;
• Collective insurance, including dental care, offered after three (3) months; the premium is assumed by the employer, except for the long-term disability insurance, shared at 60% by the employer and 40% by the employee;
• A collective REER after one year of service, with an employer contribution of 3.25%, which increases with seniority;
• Work clothes provided after three months, as well as an annual allowance for safety boots.
• What we are looking for?

We are looking for a motivated person to join the team as a PREPARATION ASSISTANT (unionized position). Being part of the team means you will have the main responsibilities as follows:

• Clean the parts using the equipment and materials according to the instructions provided by the IT (Technical Instructions) and reading the plans.
• Apply protective materials (tape, paste, etc.) to protect the parts during subsequent operations.
• Sandblast the parts for further treatment: (You must be able to use a sandblasting cabinet, including changing the abrasive agents, purging the system, and making the necessary adjustments).
• Remove the protective materials and clean them.
• Packaging of parts before shipment if needed.

The desired profile?

• High school diploma.
• No prior experience required as we train internally.
• Skill in using measuring instruments and the following equipment: overhead bridge, immersion tanks, oven, suction table, air gun (an asset).
• Ability to perceive spatial dimensions of technical drawings from plans.
• Ability to manage priorities effectively and optimally.
• Rigor, quality focus, and attention to detail.
• Team player.
