Project Engineer / Process Engineer

We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of CAPEX Project Engineer for our Boucherville plant.

Reporting directly to the Plant Director, the person holding this position will be responsible for managing the plant's major investments and driving the complete lifecycle of major projects (from budget evaluation to commissioning of facilities). They will lead strategic projects aimed at improving our facilities and enhancing process safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare investment files, estimate costs, and manage allocated budgets
• Write specifications, manage RFPs, and select vendors and subcontractors
• Coordinate design and maintenance teams and oversee on-site work
• Analyze risks and qualify new equipment
• Participate in the preparation of the plant's annual investment project budget
• Manage contractors safely while adhering to safety and environmental standards
• Write safe work permits
• Be the point of reference for process engineering
• Participate in change management (MOC) and root cause analysis (RCA) processes
• Manage process safety (MOC, PHA, PSI)

Required Skills

• Hold a university degree in engineering (preferably chemical engineering)
• Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in a project management-related position, preferably in the chemical or petrochemical industry
• Be a member of the OIQ (valid license)
• Skills in planning, organization, and problem-solving
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a team in a unionized environment
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office and SAP products
• Be bilingual (French & English)
• Salary: $85,000 to $95,000 per year
