As part of Sun Life's transition to the cloud, the Cloud Excellence Center team develops cloud capabilities, support functions, and partnerships within Enterprise Services. The team is looking for a Cloud Analyst to join their team of seasoned engineers to contribute to the setup of secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud platforms and container platforms for consumers.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a global Cloud Excellence Center dedicated to implementing cloud solutions.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous operation of Sun Life's cloud platforms and infrastructures.
• Collaborate with different squads and stakeholder teams within the Cloud Excellence Center to ensure proper project execution, according to business needs and strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with internal consumers to promote the adoption of cloud services and platform-as-a-service functions, in accordance with established standards and best practices.
• Create automation scripts and tools to simplify the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the team's services.
• Work within an agile team to implement platform improvements and strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to the modernization of existing workloads and operational processes to better leverage cloud platforms and container services.
• Work on proof-of-concept initiatives, technical evaluations, and implementation activities related to cloud platform and container platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with support and engineering teams to resolve issues and incidents and contribute to operational stability.
• Act quickly, never compromising the security of our systems or the protection of our Clients' information.
• Apply best practices and standards, and ensure compliance with all company security directives.
• Contribute to security engineering to ensure compliance from the design phase.
• Support cloud verification and risk and compliance management requirements, in partnership with security and governance teams.
• Write and maintain detailed documents on cloud services, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

As is often the case in IT services, after-hours availability is required for client-related interventions or troubleshooting. Since Sun Life is a global organization, it provides 24/7 support.

Skills for Success

• University degree in computer science, mathematics, sciences, or a related technology field.
• Relevant experience in server management or enterprise cloud solutions administration.
• Knowledge of DevOps environments and the use of automation to create value.
• Basic technical and business knowledge of at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience or training in software engineering, scripting, software development lifecycle practices, or infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with system provisioning and configuration management using automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Backstage, or other cloud technologies.

Preferred Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and a collaborative and innovative spirit, with a constant desire to learn.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team, ideally with Scrum or Kanban framework experience.
• Certification in AWS, Azure, GCP, or the Linux Foundation (e.g., Certified Solution Architect, Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate), an asset.
• Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and EKS), an asset.
• Understanding of container platforms and orchestration concepts; experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes, an asset for this entry-level position.
• Knowledge of self-service platform concepts, developer support, and standardized cloud service consumption models, an asset.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages (Python, React, TypeScript, Node.js, Bash).
• Experience or exposure to using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and AWS Bedrock (models developed by Anthropic).

The base salary range applies to the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the location of the selected candidate or other factors. In addition to the base salary, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive programs whose payment is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
