YOUR NEXT CHALLENGES:

Reporting to the Production Metallurgist, you will be called upon to perform various tasks in the plant or laboratory according to the priorities of the operation. You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct, and the environment.

More specifically, you will need to

  • Monitor the operation for performance optimization; take samples, maintain certain equipment, and take plant measurements as required by the metallurgist;
  • Assist operators in the use of certain measuring devices or in tracking metallurgical performance;
  • Contribute to the metallurgical unit by actively participating in planning and update meetings, while being proactive in finding solutions to metallurgical problems;
  • Write reports on the various tasks performed in the plant or laboratory and present them clearly and accurately;
  • Ensure that any breaks or lack of equipment in the laboratory and plant are noted to provide reliable support to the operation;
  • Participate in various laboratory maintenance tasks;
  • Know all protocols and procedures applied in the research laboratory for sample preparation to be sent to the analysis laboratory and/or for any other metallurgical control (granulometry, granulometry, cyanidation, grinding, flotation, etc.);
  • Work jointly with metallurgists to plan and carry out various optimization projects according to the priorities of the operation and production;
  • Track your hours on various projects linked to tax credits;
  • Be able to perform the tasks of other technicians as needed;
  • Write certain procedures related to the work to be performed;
  • May be called upon to supervise special projects at the concentrator level;
  • May be called upon to assist in the high-security refinery and elution sectors;
  • May be called upon to participate in the production of daily and monthly reports as well as the various follow-ups related to them;
  • May be called upon to place orders for materials and reagents and follow up on them for the laboratory and plant;
  • Perform any other related tasks requested by your supervisor.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR YOUR SUCCESS

  • Hold a college diploma (DEC) in mineral technology, analytical chemistry, metallurgical engineering, or any other relevant college training;
  • Be meticulous, autonomous, and structured.
