You will participate in the success of the control team, and you will fully participate in all stages leading to the realization of the project, including design, programming, installation, and troubleshooting of the automated system as an Automation Designer-Integrator I.

What we expect from you

  • Participate in the design and implementation of the operational and command parts of an automated production system;
  • Contribute to the analysis of automation goals for a production process;
  • Perform programming on different brands of PLCs;
  • Commission systems directly at the client's site;
  • Install and troubleshoot automated systems;
  • Evaluate the automation of processes to control production quality;
  • Create technical and contractual documents related to the operation and maintenance of an automated system;
  • Support customers through various communication media such as emails and phone;
  • Collaborate on project definition;
  • Actively participate in achieving team goals;
  • Be a technical reference in the team and train new personnel;
  • Develop complete functional analyses, including a description of the process;
  • Generate test procedures and factory startup procedures;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Requirements

  • A DEC in industrial electronics, industrial automation, automated production management, or equivalent experience related to instrumentation, control, or automation;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in automation;
  • Experience in troubleshooting automated systems;
  • Knowledge of PLC programming (Allan Bradley);
  • Knowledge of HMI programming;
  • Knowledge of industrial networking;
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite;
  • Bilingualism: Due to the nature of the job, a good base in English, both orally and in writing, is essential. Functions related to this position involve frequent communication with partners, clients, and suppliers outside Quebec and Canada, as well as professional travel across Canada and internationally. These linguistic requirements ensure effective and smooth collaboration in a national and international work context.
  • Ability to analyze existing PLC programs from various sources;
  • Knowledge of the wood industry (asset).

Important Points

  • Be available to travel between 1 to 3 weeks and, if necessary, have a valid passport (30% local and international mobility, mainly in Canada and the United States);
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
