Description

Req ID:523192

At Alstom, we have a deep understanding of transportation networks and know what drives people to use them. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams to integrated systems, services, infrastructure, and signaling and digital mobility solutions, we offer the most comprehensive portfolio in the sector. Every day, more than 80,000 employees worldwide are paving the way for greener and smarter mobility solutions to connect cities, reduce carbon footprint, and replace the car.

Could you be the full-time Senior Financial Project Manager we are looking for on the South Shore of Montreal?

This position requires on-site presence for 3 days a week. Several shuttles are provided by Alstom between Montreal and the St-Bruno site to facilitate the commute!

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and leverage your financial management expertise in an advanced field. You will work with collaborative and dynamic teams, and play a key role in optimizing the financial performance of high-criticality projects, contributing to the overall success of our strategic initiatives.

On a daily basis, you will closely collaborate with project managers, financial teams, and other specialized departments (legal, operational excellence, platforms, etc.), providing financial analyses, advice, and guidance to support strategic decision-making. You will also be an active partner in the negotiation and risk and opportunity assessment processes.

You will be responsible for supervising and optimizing the financial aspects of projects, as well as preparing and implementing appropriate financial strategies.

  • We will call on you to:
  • Actively participate in the overall project management process in partnership with the project manager.
  • Optimize the financial aspects of projects, including organization, taxation, coverage, and financing.
  • Provide reliable financial analyses and recommendations to improve contractual margins and working capital.
  • Ensure strict compliance with accounting, tax, and regulatory standards (IFRS).
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and tools.
  • Mentor and train junior financial project managers to develop their skills in managing low-criticality projects.
  • Establish strategic networks with internal and external financial actors involved in projects.
  • Your profile

We place more importance on passion and mindset than on experience. That's why we don't expect you to have all the skills. We have rather drawn up a list of those that, in our opinion, will help you succeed and thrive in this role:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a similar field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial project management or similar fields.
  • Knowledge of the industrial environment and experience in industrial cost control are desirable.
  • Experience in audit or operational project management would be an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and knowledge of SAP.
  • Bilingual: French and English (mastery of a third language is an asset).
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate in a multicultural environment.

What you will appreciate

Join us for a new life experience - the railway sector is a sector of the future, so you can develop and acquire new skills and experiences throughout your career. You will also be able to:

  • Benefit from stability, challenges, and a long-term career without daily routine.
  • Work with passionate, qualified, and engaged colleagues in an inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on global-scale projects.
  • Contribute to innovative and sustainable projects.
  • Work in a flexible and collaborative work environment.
  • Direct your career in the direction of your choice through functions and countries.
  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning programs.
  • Progress towards leadership or technical expertise roles according to your aspirations.
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic compensation system that recognizes your performance and potential, as well as comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life insurance, health insurance, pension).

It is not necessary to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you board one of our trains with your friends or family, you will be proud. If you are ready to take on the challenge, we would like to get to know you!
