Overview
The Senior Engineering Manager, Equipment Integration, will join the Engineering Management Practice at the Organization of Professional Technicians (OPT) of Canada's Engineering Services. This person will play a leading role in delivering engineering services on large and complex projects (generally Class 3 and 4 projects) within the Defence portfolio.
Reporting to the Director of Operations of the Engineering Management Practice, the Senior Engineering Manager, Equipment Integration, will provide advanced technical leadership in the design, evaluation, and management of the lifecycle of equipment and military systems-related projects. You will support the growth of AtkinsRéalis Canada's Defence portfolio by collaborating closely with clients such as the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and Defence partners to provide our services to ensure operational readiness, safety, and engineering innovation in equipment.
Your Role *Technical Expertise:*
- Lead engineering evaluations, design reviews, and equipment performance assessments, including vehicles, weapons systems, sensors, and support equipment.
- *Lifecycle Management:*
- Oversee the acquisition, integration, maintenance, and disposal of Defence equipment in accordance with MDN policies and NATO standards.
- *Engineering Support:*
- Provide expertise on equipment specifications, test protocols, and failure analysis.
- *Project Leadership:*
- Manage multidisciplinary teams on modernization and sustainment projects.
- *Compliance and Safety:*
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with Canadian Defence regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- *Stakeholder Collaboration:*
- Work closely with MDN, CAF, OEMs, and allied Defence organizations to align engineering solutions with operational needs.
- *Market Growth:*
- Collaborate with our market leaders to develop AtkinsRéalis Canada's portfolio in the Defence sector.
- *Business Development:*
- Evaluate business opportunities in collaboration with market leaders and participate in business development activities;
- Lead or collaborate on the preparation and/or revision of proposals in connection with the market and proposal management team;
- Interact with clients, seek business opportunities, and guide your team in delivering exceptional service.
About You
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering.
- Over 10 years of experience in equipment engineering, with at least 5 years in a military or Defence context.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada.
- Experience in Defence procurement, equipment testing, and technical risk assessments.
- Eligibility for a Security Clearance Secret (Level II) or Top Secret (Level III).
- Knowledge of Canadian Armed Forces Technical Orders (OTFC), NATO STANAGs, and MDN engineering frameworks.
- Experience with digital engineering tools (e.g., CAD, PLM, FEA).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- This position requires knowledge of a language other than French, such as English, as the work produced is intended for audiences located elsewhere in Canada, internationally, or in another region of the world.
The expected salary range for this position is $125,000 - $171,900 annually. Base salaries are determined based on several factors such as skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external equity are also considered in our offers.
