As a Health, Safety and Environment Manager within our organization, you will play an essential role in implementing and overseeing initiatives aimed at ensuring employee safety, promoting workplace health, and protecting the environment across our company.

You will work closely with operational teams and leadership to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards while fostering a culture of prevention and sustainability.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Develop, implement, and manage health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable regulations, RTX programs, and industry best practices.
  • Operationalize the site's annual ESS strategic plan and support its implementation.
  • Collaborate with contractor management teams to implement preventive measures and solutions aimed at reducing workplace injuries, occupational illnesses, and environmental incidents.
  • Adopt a coaching approach based on individual development and accountability for team members.
  • Manage the workload of your team by establishing realistic timelines, efficient resource planning, and action priorities.
  • Determine specific and clear responsibilities for each member of your team.
  • Prepare periodic performance reports on health, safety, and environmental matters, highlighting key indicators and progress made.
  • Promote an engagement culture in health, safety, and environmental matters across the company by organizing awareness campaigns and encouraging active participation from all employees.
  • Participate in the development of the plant's health, safety, and environmental strategic development plan.
  • Implement corporate excellence practices in environment, health, and safety.
  • Propose innovative and secure solutions for the company's health, safety, and environmental facilities.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Hold a university degree in an appropriate field (human resources, occupational health and safety, industrial relations).
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations in the field of EHS.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, tact, and political sense.
  • Show a strong sense of collaboration and the ability to translate issues into concrete solutions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to accompany and advise business partners in the field of occupational health and safety.
  • Possess leadership and the know-how to gain commitment to proposed solutions.
  • Demonstrate a strong aptitude for managing large-scale change and the ability to manage its repercussions at all levels of the company and with all stakeholders.
  • Master both French and English, both spoken and written.

This position is set in a French-speaking work environment, but requires functional English skills to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings, and technical terms that may originate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with international clients, suppliers, or colleagues.
