We currently have a position open for a Drilling Tools Technician. This role is responsible for supporting drilling tools contracts by providing advice on their proper use, as well as managing and distributing products. This role requires no prior experience and serves as a starting point for a exciting career in the mining industry.
- This entry-level position is ideal for a hands-on person who wants to launch their career in the mining industry. No prior experience in drilling tools is required: we offer comprehensive in-house training to help you develop the knowledge and skills needed for your success.

What you will do
- Manage the inventory of drilling tools and track all new equipment, scrap, and losses.
- Repair and maintain tools according to established specifications.
- Deliver drilling tools products to customers.
- Use the drilling tools management system to monitor and report on tool performance.
- Perform troubleshooting and provide technical recommendations and improvements to the supervisor as well as to Sandvik sales and service representatives.
- Report any situation that may indicate inappropriate use or selection of tools by operators.
- Accurately complete time sheets, technical reports, and failure reports.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with the drilling tools team as well as with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform daily and weekly inventories.
- Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- Operate a telescoping dolly and a truck-mounted crane.
- 11.5-hour shift schedule, according to a rotation of 5 days of work followed by 4 days off, then 4 days of work followed by 5 days off.
- Willing to work overtime.
Health and Safety Environmental
- Respect safety policies as well as government, customer, or industry regulations or requirements.
- Identify and report any hazardous work practices, incidents, or near-misses. Perform risk assessments ('Take Five') before each task.
- Maintain manual tools and equipment to ensure safe use.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Participate in health, safety, and environmental training.
- Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) for each task.
What you will bring
- High school diploma (DES).
- Knowledge or experience with industry equipment (mining or construction) is an asset.
- Experience with Sandvik products is an asset, but not required.
- Ability to work in a team in an integrated environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Flexible, self-motivated, and initiative-taking person.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability and willingness to work different shifts (if needed).
