This strategic role places you at the heart of Apertera's legal and linguistic quality. You will ensure the translation and revision of complex legal documents while playing a key role in the continuous training and expertise development of our linguistic teams.

Your mission: ensure flawless accuracy, transmit your knowledge, and actively contribute to the evolution of AI-supported linguistic practices.

Functions and Responsibilities: Translation and Revision:

• Translate and revise English to French complex documents related to business law and regulated finance.
• Ensure terminological accuracy, compliance with legal frameworks, and fidelity to the legal system of each language.
• Ensure consistency between source and target texts during revision.
• Sign legal opinions as a lawyer attesting to the compliance and accuracy of documents.
• Provide rigorous follow-up on requests, including proactive management of client questions and feedback.
• Maintain and enrich client-specific terminological databases and style guides.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Apertera's neural machine translation platform.
• Provide constructive feedback and support the development of team members.
• Training and Expertise Development:
• Gather and analyze training needs in collaboration with linguistic managers and the Director of Human Resources.
• Develop linguistic and technical training programs and materials, including the use of tools and the Apertera IA platform.
• Conduct training sessions for internal and external teams.
• Ensure the quality, efficiency, and relevance of training to enhance the skills and professionalism of linguistic experts.
• Develop continuous improvement plans to foster linguistic excellence.

Qualifications

• University degree in law.
• University degree in English-French translation, with specialization in finance, economics, or law.
• Active member of the Quebec or Ontario Bar.
• Member of a recognized professional order, such as OTTIAQ, ATIO, or equivalent for the English-French language combination.
• Excellent knowledge of the legal and financial sectors.
• Proficiency in TAO tools (e.g., Phrase) and a strong interest in AI applied to translation.
• Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written.
• Demonstrated ability to train and adapt to different learning styles.

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in translating and revising legal documents.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in training and developing skills for linguistic teams.
• Experience in a translation agency or within an internal linguistic service.

Skills and Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of legal and financial terminology.
• Strict adherence to client instructions and preferences.
• Good knowledge of TAO tools (e.g., Phrase) and a strong interest in AI applied to translation.
• Excellent pedagogical skills and clear knowledge transmission.
• Analytical mindset, adaptability, and sense of priorities.
• Rigor, attention to detail, organization, and respect for deadlines.
• Autonomy, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
