AECOM is currently seeking a Hydraulic Engineer for a full-time position within our Water & Power group.

The successful candidate will contribute to hydroelectric power plant, pumped storage plant, dam, and hydraulic structure projects. They may also be called upon to participate in other projects, including port infrastructure, civil works, and environmental projects.

Under the supervision of experienced engineers, the main responsibilities include:

  • Participate in hydraulic and hydrological studies for various projects;
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, calculation notes, and design documents;
  • Participate in feasibility, preliminary, and detailed studies for hydraulic and hydroelectric works;
  • Perform analyses and numerical modeling of flows (1D, 2D, and, depending on the projects, 3D);
  • Participate in dam safety studies, transient flow analyses, and energy production simulations;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions;
  • Participate in the preparation of plans, estimates, and other technical deliverables;
  • Perform any other related tasks in support of projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a specialization in water resources or hydraulics;
  • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ) or eligible to become one soon;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hydraulics or water resources;
  • Knowledge of HEC family software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or equivalents);
  • Strong technical report writing skills;
  • Excellent French language proficiency, both oral and written;
  • Good English language proficiency, both oral and written, for projects outside Quebec;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in dam or hydroelectric development projects;
  • Knowledge of Flow-3D, Simsen, or other hydraulic modeling tools;
  • Valid driver's license.
