Radio-Canada is looking for a researcher to support the sports team and production of a show.

Function: Research, propose, and develop content based on the show's programming mandate, according to the Society's standards and policies.

  • Follows Olympic and sports news and maintains contact with various sources;
  • Proposes and develops show and digital content;
  • Participates in production meetings. Proposes concepts, topics, guests, and angles for treatment;
  • Researches and selects information, ideas, and written, audio, and audiovisual documents;
  • Finds and, if necessary, selects people to interview. Conducts pre-interviews. Proposes questions, leads, and interview scenarios;
  • Prepares and presents a written and oral report of the research. Provides continuous follow-up to the host, before and during the show. If necessary, proposes presentation texts;
  • Ensures logistical support (arrival time, honorarium, parking, etc.) for guests, columnists, and panelists. Informs them about the show's content and progress;
  • Builds and maintains files on upcoming topics, updates Olympic qualification documentation, and follows athletes' schedules;
  • On request, conducts short interviews and reports on research on-air. Performs basic editing;
  • If necessary: writes questions for games or contests; filters audience calls and responds to information requests; coordinates column content; conducts special research projects, writes result tables;
  • If necessary, performs any other tasks related to the above.

This position is a combination of remote work and office presence. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers according to sector guidelines.

Your Profile:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience.

Skills

  • Excellent general knowledge;
  • Excellent knowledge of current events;
  • Excellent knowledge of the working language: French;
  • Intermediate skills in oral, written, and reading English (BBB);
  • Excellent knowledge of research techniques and tools.
