Environmental Works Coordinator

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Environmental Works Coordinator role involves supporting and overseeing the work carried out on construction sites where wind farm projects are being erected in Quebec. The position requires interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, at various levels and positions, to ensure the project proceeds in accordance with the conditions set by regulatory authorities.

• Plan and oversee the environmental monitoring of wind turbine construction work, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and tracking ongoing mandates (schedules and budgets);
• Oversee the environmental monitoring of civil works including deforestation, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team;
• Validate compliance with estimates, monitoring plans, laws, regulations, and conditions set by regulatory authorities;
• Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation;
• Maintain liaison with clients, subcontractors, approval authorities, and project stakeholders;
• Collaborate on obtaining environmental permits and authorization certificates;
• Propose solutions to environmental-related issues;
• Participate in the development of new tools and services offered by the company;
• Collaborate on obtaining additional exemptions or authorizations, if necessary;
• Participate in site meetings;
• Write monitoring reports;
• Perform any other related tasks.
• This position is for you if you have:
• A technical or university degree in forestry and environmental management, forest operations, environment, engineering, forestry, biology, or another relevant field;
• Membership in the Quebec Order of Professional Foresters is an asset;
• Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position;
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of environmental standards to be followed in construction sites (e.g., RADF, LQE, Fisheries Act, Species at Risk Act, etc.);
• Be familiar with ArcGIS software and have good technological skills;
• Advanced French language skills, both oral and written;
• Intermediate English language skills, both oral and written, to regularly interact with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, partners, and colleagues at a national level. Must participate in coordination meetings and provide progress updates to anglophone stakeholders.
• Experience in the construction industry and its health and safety standards is an asset.
