- Your mission in the team:
The incumbent of the position develops human resources and business strategies to achieve objectives and acts as a coach to their client groups of the metro banner. They direct and coordinate all activities of the divisional human resources service by controlling the application of management policies and procedures and advise executives in the application of collective agreements. The incumbent of the position acts as a transformational change agent in the implementation of new ways of doing and managing change.
Your responsibilities as a Human Resources Manager
- Act as a business partner to your clients by developing human resources strategies to achieve the division's objectives.
- Build action plans according to the various initiatives to be implemented.
- Actively contribute to employee mobilization and retention by supporting managers in implementing initiatives that promote engagement, development, and employee experience.
- Act as a change agent by accompanying teams in the implementation of new practices and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in the HR sector and its clients.
- Administer and apply the collective agreements of your divisions and advise your clients on issues related to labor relations and employee relations.
- Advise your clients on the interpretation and application of management policies and procedures as well as the various labor laws.
- Advise your clients on talent management, workforce planning, structure, and organizational development.
- Maintain effective relations with union representatives and advise your clients on litigious matters such as grievances, disciplinary notices, legal appeals, etc.
- Support managers, coordinate, implement, and promote various programs and activities related to health and safety at work.
- Develop, recommend, and control the application of means to maximize the efficiency, motivation, and performance of human resources.
- Support activities related to funding, social benefits management, updating employee files, integrating new employees, and workplace absenteeism.
- Advise your clients on job changes, salary changes, or others, in collaboration with the compensation service, and follow up.
- Collaborate, when required, in the preparation, conduct, and conclusion of negotiations for the renewal of collective agreements.
- Participate in the development and follow-up of activities related to the succession plan of your sector as well as individual development plans.
- Lead and develop members of your human resources team.
- Participate in various management, health and safety, training, productivity, etc., committees.
- Provide support in the development and implementation of training programs and act as a facilitator when necessary.
The qualifications we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in administration, human resources, industrial relations, or a related discipline
- 10 to 15 years of experience in human resources and labor relations, as a generalist or business partner
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Availability to travel frequently to stores
- Oral and written communications
- Proficiency in MS Office suite software as well as copilot
- Project management skills
- Bilingualism essential (spoken and written) The position requires collaboration with colleagues who speak only English.
