The candidate can be based in Montreal or Quebec.

You will play a key role in preparing proposals and estimating work for the sales department, contributing to its smooth functioning.

You will work together with the sales representatives and technicians to complete various projects. You will provide top-tier technical support for the planning and analysis of different projects.

Your daily role

Analysis and estimation

• Analyze customer requests, plans, quotes, and technical specifications.
• Assess the scope of work, risks, and technical constraints.
• Conduct site surveys when required.
• Prepare cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracting.
• Determine the hours of work needed to complete projects.
• Calculate margins and project profitability.

Preparing proposals

• Prepare professional, complete, and client-compliant proposals.
• Write inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and submission conditions.
• Review proposals before presenting them to clients.
• Perform price revisions as requested by sales representatives.
• Follow up on bids until their closure.

Technical support for sales

• Advise sales representatives on the most suitable technical solutions.
• Participate in client meetings when necessary.
• Provide technical support during presentations and negotiations.
• Recommend solutions to optimize costs while meeting client needs.
• Answer technical questions from clients or representatives.

Vendor relations

• Obtain prices from manufacturers and suppliers.
• Compare different available solutions.
• Keep price lists and databases up to date.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers.

Internal coordination

• Work closely with the operations, installation, and service departments.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings when required.
• Ensure a smooth transition between sales and work execution.
• Provide all necessary documentation to the operations teams.

Continuous improvement

• Participate in the development of estimation standards.
• Keep proposal templates up to date.
• Identify improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and profitability.
• Stay informed about new technologies and products available on the market.
• Your profile

Education

• DEC in electronics, electrotechnics, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Any combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project estimation.
• Experience in the field of electronic security, access control, video surveillance, or intrusion systems.
• Experience with public and private bids.

Requirements

• Hold a valid permit issued by the Private Security Bureau (BSP).
• Hold a valid driver's license.

Technical knowledge

• Excellent knowledge of electronic security systems (Genetec, LenelS2, Software House, Avigilon, Honeywell, Bosch, or equivalent).
• Reading and interpretation of plans and quotes.
• Knowledge of ULC, RBQ, Building Code, and other applicable standards.
• Good knowledge of electronic security products.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of an estimation software or ERP (asset).
