The CLaws team is responsible for the design, development, and verification of Fly-By-Wire (FBW) flight control laws for Bombardier's new generation aircraft, including today's business jets Global 7500/8000. The flight control laws developed by the CLaws team manage the aircraft's response to flight quality, performance, and requirements, as well as introduce additional flight envelope protections and reduce pilot workload.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Develop and improve existing and new flight control laws and evaluation tools using Matlab and C++
• Support the development of flight control laws, autopilot, and navigation for research projects
• Validate and verify (V&V) requirements for all flight control law developments
• Verify and deliver flight control laws in accordance with DO-178B and SAE ARP 4754 standards
• Design and develop flight control laws with the pilot in the loop, considering flight qualities, requirements, and pilot evaluation
• Assess flight control stability, failure cases, and performance using analytical methods, simulations, and simulator testing

How will you thrive in this role?

• You hold a bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• You have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in FBW (Fly-By-Wire) flight control law development
• You have a good understanding of flight dynamics and a deep knowledge of aircraft aerodynamics
• You are proficient in SISO and MIMO system control with classical or modern methods
• You understand flight control law evaluation and testing procedures in linear and nonlinear domains
• You understand aircraft stability and flight control with the pilot in the loop
• You are proficient in using Matlab/Simulink for simulation, aircraft/system modeling, and flight control law development
• You are proficient in Matlab script programming
• You are proficient in C++ programming
• You are fluent in both French and English, both written and spoken
• You are a team player with an innovative, motivated, and independent spirit
