As a Canadian Tax Director at Forvis Mazars, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, contributing to our mission of providing top-tier audit and tax consulting services.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and inspire, overseeing strategic client engagements and developing innovative tax solutions. You will be responsible for guiding and advising team members, fostering their professional development, and playing a key role in developing and delivering internal tax training.

Additionally, you will actively participate in business development efforts to drive the growth of the firm.

• Supervise compliance engagements for strategic clients, corporations, individuals, and trusts
• Identify new tax service opportunities for our clients
• Implement proposed solutions for our clients
• Assume a coaching and advisory role for team members to foster their professional development and assist in problem-solving
• Participate in the development of internal tax training and deliver training as needed
• Contribute to the growth of the firm through business development

Your Profile

• CPA or Lawyer designation
• Master's degree in tax or In-Depth Tax Course, or equivalent
• 4 to 6 years of experience in accounting or law firms
• Experience in examining complex corporate tax returns
• Experience in preparing tax planning memorandums
• Proficiency in appropriate software (Microsoft Office Suite, Taxprep, CCH, etc.)
• Ability to interpret and apply tax laws
• Comfortable with tax research methods and databases

• Ability to manage engagements and deadlines with an optimal client experience approach
• Ability to simplify and adapt communications to the audience, both orally and in writing
• Strong attention to detail
• ️ Language Skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written French is required.
• Knowledge of English is also required, given the nature of our client base and partners across Canada (particularly in the anglophone provinces) and internationally, where English is the business language. An advanced level of oral comprehension and communication is generally required, with usage frequency potentially daily depending on the functions and engagements.
