Could you be the full-time Senior Project Financial Controller at ... on the South Shore of Montreal that we are looking for?
This position requires on-site presence for 3 days a week. Several shuttles are provided by Alstom between Montreal and the St-Bruno site to facilitate the commute!
Your Future Role
Leverage your financial expertise in a dynamic and promising sector. You will work alongside engaged, collaborative, and forward-thinking teams, acting as a financial partner for major railway projects.
As a Project Financial Controller, you will support project leaders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the financial performance of projects throughout their lifecycle. You will provide financial analyses, support strategic decision-making, ensure compliance with financial requirements, and contribute to maximizing profitability and cash flow of projects.
You will be responsible for financial performance management, forecasting, financial reporting, risk management, and support for contractual activities to ensure the financial and operational success of projects.
In this role, you will be called upon to
- Act as a trusted financial partner to project leaders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide financial analyses, recommendations, and advice to support decision-making.
- Ensure financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance tracking of projects.
- Monitor and optimize project profitability, margins, cash flow, and working capital.
- Support contract management and claims by evaluating financial risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial control and governance processes.
- Mentor and support junior project financial controllers.
- Your Profile

- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a similar field.
- At least 5 years of experience in project financial control, management accounting, project finance, or as a financial business partner, or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of the industrial sector and experience in industrial management accounting are desirable.
- Experience in project audit or operational project management would be an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and knowledge of SAP.
- Bilingual: French and English (mastery of a third language is an asset).
- Team spirit and ability to collaborate in a multicultural environment.
