Job Duties

As a member of the Personal Banking and Small Business team, you will manage and develop a specialized client portfolio by managing key relationships, creating comprehensive financial plans, and providing exceptional customer service. As a Senior Financial Services Specialist, you will implement the CIBC Imperial Service approach by taking responsibility for a large portfolio and helping clients with planning that meets their current needs and supports the achievement of their goals. You will proactively engage with many clients, new and existing, to build lasting relationships, understand their goals, build their financial plan using CIBC's advanced tools, and provide the right advice to help them make informed choices for their future. You must be able to work during banking center hours, including evenings and weekends. To foster the delivery of an exceptional customer experience, you must be able to work at different banking centers located at a reasonable distance.

Use your strong relationship-building and networking skills to build relationships, create business opportunities, and achieve concrete results. Leverage CIBC's extensive range of credit and investment solutions to offer a needs-based approach that will result in loyal and satisfied clients, and more referrals.
  • Community Engagement - Promote the CIBC brand in your community by participating in local activities and taking part in marketing and outreach activities. Expand your network to create lasting connections that will bring opportunities in the future.

  • You have one and a half to three years of experience in a financial advisor role, in managing and developing your own client portfolio.
  • You are an accredited professional (OCRI-CFM). You have a current and valid accreditation for the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)/Canadian Investment Fund Course (CIFC)/Investment Funds of Canada Course (IFC) and meet the OCRI-CFM membership criteria at the time of hire. Personal Financial Planner (PFP) course within 24 months of your start date.
  • You are an accredited professional (Quebec). You have a current and valid accreditation for the AMF license, have passed the Canadian Investment Fund Course (CIFC) or Canadian Securities Course (CSC) for the purpose of obtaining the AMF license, and hold the title of Retirement Counselor (RC). Passing the courses Investments and Taxation - Quebec (0774) and Legal and Ethical Aspects of Financial Planning (0790) from CSI and ICB is an asset.
