Zurich Canada is currently seeking a Deputy Vice President, Principal Property Risk Consultant, to provide expertise in risk assessment and consulting services to support our large property risk accounts.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice President, Property – General, you will act as both an account coordinator and on-site representative for several accounts. You will collaborate with underwriting partners to manage the quality of risks in Zurich's property portfolio, support clients' risk control programs, conduct on-site risk assessments, prepare account analyses, and coordinate follow-up meetings, all while adhering to Zurich's global technical standards and recognized codes.

What You Will Do

• Assess complex risk quality, focusing on key and strategic assets as defined by Zurich Resilience Solutions standards.
• Assess loss potentials according to Zurich and industry definitions.
• Support external clients by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to their key/strategic assets and entire accounts.
• Provide appropriate risk improvement recommendations, conduct loss investigations (including trend and deep-rooted cause analysis), and implement risk improvement programs.
• Communicate effectively with on-site risk engineers; maintain relationships with underwriting partners, brokers, sectoral consultants, professional organizations, and regulatory authorities.
• Develop and implement client service plans for coordinated accounts to enhance on-site service efficiency.
• Ensure consistency and quality of services provided to the account, including assessments, risk improvement recommendations, reports, and time and expense management.
• Explore new service opportunities, develop new services for clients, and identify cross-selling potential.
• Support the commercial growth of Zurich Resilience Solutions by offering cutting-edge consulting and sold services, identifying opportunities, and fostering strong client relationships.
• Manage change within accounts by maintaining close contact with client leadership teams and business partners, including reviewing new projects and change plans.
• Job Qualifications – What You Bring

Exigences

• Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience in property risk engineering
• OR
• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 10 years of experience in property risk engineering
• OR
• Certified Zurich Apprenticeship Program, including a college diploma and at least 8 years of experience in property risk engineering
• AND
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Advanced knowledge of risks and control measures in the industrial sector
• Experience working within a team

Atouts

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, civil engineering, or related discipline
• Designation in risk management (CRM – Canadian Risk Management)
• Experience managing accounts as a risk management consultant for medium-sized or large property insurance clients and related programs
• Excellent communication skills and strong result-oriented consulting skills
• Excellent collaboration skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written French
• Proficiency in spoken and written English required to facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders outside of Quebec.
