As a Leader, Requirements Management, you will lead the development and management of project requirements, working on key phases such as design, construction, commissioning, and handover. The hierarchical relationships will evolve throughout the project: during the design and construction phases, this person will report to the Engineering Manager, and during commissioning and handover, to the Manager, Commissioning and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). More specifically, you will need to:

  • Lead a team of requirements and systems engineers.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive requirements management plan, including methodologies, tools, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams, both internal and external, to refine high-level requirements and convert them into detailed specifications for equipment.
  • Ensure liaison between clients, internal teams, and external suppliers to ensure requirements are communicated clearly and accurately.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops, meetings, and reviews to gather requirements.
  • Ensure all requirements are verifiable and comply with applicable standards.
  • Implement and manage requirements tracking systems, ensuring traceability from the client's initial instructions to final acceptance.
  • Develop and oversee a robust verification and validation process for requirements to ensure all deliverables meet project specifications.
  • Establish and manage means to collect objective evidence of quality.
  • Review test plans, inspection procedures, and compliance documents to confirm adherence to requirements.
  • Ensure all requirements comply with international maritime regulations, classification society standards, and specific client directives.
  • Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders on the status of requirements, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare traceability matrices, requirements specifications, and deviation reports.
  • Provide training and support to team members on requirements management, including theory, tools, and best practices.
  • Work effectively with the project team and in accordance with the integrated master plan.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in naval architecture, maritime engineering, or a related discipline will be considered.
  • A master's degree in systems engineering (an asset).
  • At least five years of experience in requirements management or systems engineering, ideally in the maritime industry.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in systems engineering is preferred; candidates from other disciplines will be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, M-Files, or equivalents).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in both French and English (oral and written). English proficiency is required for this position, as you will be required to interact with anglophone suppliers, partners, or clients.
