Bureau Veritas is looking for a Laboratory Analyst to join our environmental laboratory in Montreal and Ste-Foy, QC.

Please note that this is a contract until mid-December, with the possibility of extension (depending on the laboratory's needs and your performance).

Your main tasks will include

• Providing general support for sample analysis and complex sample preparation
• Performing analyses and complex sample preparation
• Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work
• Ensuring that quality control criteria are met for all reported data
• Understanding and diagnosing analyses
• Contributing to corrective action procedures
• Ensuring deadlines are met and equipment is properly maintained
• Preparing reports to plan and organize work
• Any other related tasks

You are an ideal candidate if you

• Hold a bachelor's degree in chemistry, microbiology, or biology
• Have experience in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
• Are capable of working both autonomously and in a team
• Pay attention to detail and are organized
• Have the ability to precisely follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions
• Are dynamic, energetic, motivated, and have a positive attitude

Working Conditions

• Work schedule: day AND night, including weekends
• You must be available for additional time during the high season (1-2 hours/day) from May to December
• Please note that flexibility for overtime is required to meet laboratory needs. It is important to note that overtime is not optional in this role. We expect you to work overtime according to your supervisor's directives, even if the need arises unexpectedly on a given day
• Status: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
• For this position, you must be comfortable working standing for long hours
