Surveying Technician

Overview

The Surveying Technician participates in the collection, processing, and validation of geometric and topographic data required for engineering, construction, transportation, mapping, and 3D modeling projects.

They work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of surveys according to applicable standards (MTQ, OAGQ, municipalities, etc.).

Your Role *Under the immediate supervision of the field team leader, the Surveying Technician will be called upon to:*

• *Conduct field operations:* topography, bathymetry, 3D scanning, and verification of works.
• Process data and prepare survey plans and reports independently.
• Maintain various surveying equipment.
• Capture data using terrestrial 3D scanners (TLS), mobile laser, or LiDAR as needed for the project.
• Conduct drone/UAV operations (if relevant training), including flight planning, capture, and quality control.
• Participate in all other tasks related to the position.
• *At the office/Processing:*
• Download, organize, and validate survey data.
• Process observations using specialized software (e.g., Leica Infinity, Trimble Business Center, Cyclone, Civil 3D, etc.).
• Produce topographic drawings, plans, digital terrain models (DTM), point clouds, and technical reports.
• Perform geodetic adjustments, coordinate transformations, and system calibrations.
• Prepare files for implementation (CAD, lines, points, surfaces).

About You

• DEP in surveying or DEC in Geomatics, Geodesy option (surveying).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD; Familiarity with total stations, GPS receivers, electronic levels, 3D digitizers.
