Blanchard Grinder Operator

Bonus Opportunity:

Immediate opening for a Blanchard Grinder Operator at our Montreal facility. This is a full-time position requiring availability to work day and evening shifts (weekends if necessary).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install and grind steel plates on the Blanchard
• Operate forklift and overhead cranes (training provided on-site)
• Maintain quality standards
• Must be punctual
• Keep the workplace clean
• Work safely

Skills

• Experience on a Blanchard Grinder is an asset or (training provided on-site)
• D.E.P. in machining technology is an asset or (training provided on-site)
• Good organizational skills
• Good problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Basic CNC knowledge is an asset

Blanchard Grinder

Duties

• Prepare machine for production by setting up plate on table, hand grinding edges as necessary, selecting and positioning segments and setting controls
• Prepare and ensure next job is ready for processing
• Maintain job specifications by using various types of measuring tools (micrometers, thickness gauges, verniers, etc.)
• Check quality while inspecting parts and troubleshoot issues ensuring production of quality parts
• Material handling while operating forklift and overhead cranes
• Maintain housekeeping standards and assist with preventative maintenance as required
• Assist in other areas as needed

Qualifications

• Prior Blanchard Grinding, flame cutting, CNC, lift truck, and overhead crane experience is an asset
• Basic computer and blueprint reading skills required
• Good communication skills required
• Attention to detail/quality and a great problem solver
• Team-oriented with the ability to take initiative
• Knowledge of Anchor Danly Manufacturing processes and/or technical background is an asset
