As a Journalist for the Desk, you will be part of the Information team, responsible for delivering the best content to our readers. Reporting to the Director of Production, you will be responsible for ensuring the editing and layout of editorial content and photos in the La Presse+ tablet application from various sources.

Your Challenges

• Perform rewrite work on all elements of a page; titles, hooks, text, etc.
• Revise, correct, adapt, and redesign texts
• Create headlines
• Layout texts, photos, graphics, and illustrations
• Perform translation or adaptation work

This position offers an evening and weekend work schedule. Please note that while we cannot guarantee a minimum number of hours per week, you will likely be expected to work 35 hours per week.

Our Needs

• Hold a bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, or a related field combined with one year of experience
• Demonstrate skills with word processing and image editing software
• Show enthusiasm for journalism
• Stand out with your editorial discernment and judgment
• Demonstrate creativity, autonomy, and a strong ability to work in a team
• The primary language required at La Presse is French. However, proficiency in English is required for this position due to interactions with our anglophone partners and/or suppliers
