Shunter - Experienced Forklift Operator - Class 1

Main Responsibilities

• Operate a truck.
• Perform preventive and daily maintenance of the truck.
• Keep the work area clean.
• Complete reports according to procedures.
• Report any road incidents or problems.
• Operate and clean the forklift.
• Load and unload trucks according to procedures.
• Cooperate and communicate with other forklift operators.
• Keep the warehouse clean.
• Report and clean any damage in the warehouse.
• Perform any other functions deemed necessary by the employer.
• Inspect each trailer in the Verchère network and report any damage.
• Report any damage and/or incident in the yard.
• Inspection and maintenance of forklift batteries.
• Ensure during the winter season to put de-icing salt on the sidewalks.
• Mainly evening shift work.

Requirements and Skills

• REQUIRED Possess a valid Class 1 driver's license.
• Must have a technical aptitude to understand the mechanical and electronic operation of the equipment.
• Must have a sense of responsibility, demonstrate initiative, and be resourceful.
• Ability to communicate precisely and effectively in French with the production team and other coworkers.
• Bilingualism is an asset.
