Description

The Data Valuation Analyst contributes to the exploitation and valuation of data collected through various channels. They are responsible for bringing data to life by extracting, describing, analyzing, and interpreting it to facilitate business decision-making. They possess a strong knowledge of financial products and the ability to analyze accounting entries and financial statements of a financial institution, in addition to having the ability to handle large volumes of data.

Specifically, the sought-after analyst will work on delivering features, data solutions, new data integrations, and BI solutions within the OFSAA-FSDF data warehouse. The analyst will be called upon to work closely with various initiatives related to business processes (G/L, financial disclosure, capital management, risk management) and business systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Identify, define, analyze, and document business needs, as well as participate and validate the adequacy of needs with the solution.
  • Contribute to the exploitation and valuation of data collected through various channels.
  • Ensure the mandate of bringing data to life by extracting, describing, analyzing, and interpreting it to facilitate business decision-making.
  • Play a supporting role for the dedicated customer service in the context of various intervention and solution development mandates involving data exploitation and the design of reports tailored to business needs.
  • Contribute to the realization of complex business files or projects requiring in-depth analysis and knowledge of the business domain using data available in various databases.
  • Develop recommendations, solutions, and action plans, according to the organization's guidelines and objectives.
  • Act as a reference and resource person regarding data exploitation for various stakeholders.
  • Interact with various stakeholders working in complementary fields to understand needs, present, and explain analysis results.

Work Mode: Hybrid – Minimum 2 days/week on-site.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of treasury and banking products
  • Knowledge of the financial institutions sector
  • Knowledge of hedge accounting (an asset)
  • Knowledge of databases, SQL, T-SQL, stored procedures/functions
  • Knowledge of EBS, OFSAA (an asset)
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience
  • Experience with ETL tools and best practices for data extraction, transformation, and loading
  • Relevant experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Knowledge of data security (e.g., access model, data protection) (an asset)
  • Knowledge of IFRS 9, 15, 4, 17 standards (an asset)
