Permanent positions for the Quebec Program for Buccodental and Daily Oral Hygiene Care in CHSLDs (PQSBHB).
The employee will be called upon to work in several CHSLDs, including the Portneuf and Charlevoix sectors.

REQUIRED vehicle as there are displacements in various CHSLDs, must go to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré 1x/week.
She applies and teaches in the field of dental prevention and care, dental hygiene techniques. She is responsible for the topical application of anticariogenic agents. She performs cleaning, scaling and polishing of teeth and carries out the preliminary oral examination and anamnesis.

- Accompany the nurse in the evaluation of the buccodental health of residents, screening of the main buccodental diseases, their treatment and planning of daily oral hygiene care.
- Assist, if necessary, the dentist in the exercise of his functions
- Accompany the PABs in the provision of daily oral hygiene care.
- Supra and subgingival scaling, prophylaxis, application of fluoride and diamine silver fluoride (FDA)
- Take radiographs using a portable dental radiography device (ARDP)
- Indicate observations and recommendations as well as notes in connection with the protocol for preventive buccodental care.
- Record the names of residents on removable dental prostheses according to the defined technique.
- Maintain inventory and make purchases of materials required for dental hygiene care.
- Accompany managers and the nurse in the organization of hygiene care and dentist visits.

The National Public Health Program 2015-2025 – Publications of the Ministry of Health and Social Services (PNSP) supports public dental health activities. These activities aim to prevent the appearance of buccodental health problems, in particular dental caries, and to reduce social inequalities in buccodental health.
Dental hygienists at the Public Health Directorate have expertise in healthy buccodental habits and contribute to improving the buccodental health of children and adolescents.

- Roles and responsibilities:
1. In collaboration with colleagues in the team and dental advisors, plan and implement the public dental health program in school settings and childcare services.
- Apply the sealing agent to children in the 2nd year of elementary school and to adolescents in the 2nd year of secondary school
- Application of diamine silver fluoride (FDA) to students in the 2nd year of elementary school as needed
- Support childcare educational services (CPE) and school-based care services for the deployment of the supervised toothbrushing program with fluoridated toothpaste.
2. Play an influential role by informing and sensitizing children, adolescents and their parents about the importance of good buccodental hygiene.
3. Respect the policies and procedures of CIUSSSCN 4. Ensure clinical practice in dental health according to good practices and processes established by the Public Health Directorate and the CIUSSSCN 5. Participate in the reception of interns and the support of new dental hygienists who may join the team 6. Participate in one of the work committees within the dental health team 7. Collaborate with the head of service and dental advisors for the implementation of the Public Health Program at the Public Health Directorate of the CIUSSSCN
Requirements
- Hold a diploma from the Dental Hygiene Techniques program (DEC)
- Be a member of the Order of Dental Hygienists of Quebec
- Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle
- Other experience requirements:
- Experience with the target clientele would be an asset
