Imperial Dade Canada has a position available in Saint-Laurent. Under general supervision, the candidate for this position is responsible for processing vendor invoices and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all accounts payable within their scope, including resolving discrepancies in price and quantity, if applicable. The position holder is responsible for communication with internal stakeholders and vendors, resolving vendor disputes, reconciling statements, and other ad-hoc requests. The position holder analyzes relevant ledger accounts, prepares journal entries, and participates in month-end and year-end closing procedures. The position holder must adhere to all deadlines for monthly financial reporting and sales tax, and must provide accurate and timely analyses and research, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all vendor invoices (including compliance with sales tax).
  • Adhere to company standards, procedures, and the delegation of authority matrix.
  • Investigate and resolve quantity or price discrepancies, or other disputes, and process credits, as applicable.
  • Assist in managing one or more ledger accounts in the assigned accounting area(s), including, but not limited to, preparing supporting schedules, preparing appropriate journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
  • Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
  • Participate in other initiatives as needed.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Must be self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Must have a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Must be perfectly bilingual, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively interact with a variety of team members across different departments.
  • Strong collaboration skills: work cooperatively with others within the organization to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Must be adaptable to change in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or other certification in accounting from an accredited post-secondary institution and two years of professional experience in the same field.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel).
