About the role

The Supply Chain Agent (Contract Management) for BIS (IT) is responsible for managing global contracts with strategic BIS suppliers of Bombardier Aerospace. The main objective of this role is to lead the commercial relationship with suppliers and ensure that all services and obligations of the suppliers are provided in accordance with the contract. He/she works closely with BIS teams (Business Services, Value Chain, Projects, and others), financial and legal services to resolve commercial escalations in case of service deficiencies and serves as the central point of information exchange between various functions within BIS and IGS (Indirect Goods and Services). The Contract Management Agent ensures close alignment of Bombardier's and BIS's strategy with the strategy of key suppliers to benefit from suppliers' investments in new technologies.

He/she provides informal advice or occasional on-the-job training to new team members. The role has an impact on the department's and closely related teams' performance by contributing to or supporting the department's commercial strategy function and domain.

An essential factor of success is contributing to cost reduction.

Manage the overall relationship with suppliers

  • Establish adequate governance structures at a global scale
  • Continuously validate the performance of suppliers in terms of services and contractual obligations.
  • Review commercial contracts and forecasts
  • Address structural and process issues within the framework of collaboration with the supplier.
  • Examine the supplier's strategy and ensure strategic alignment with BIS, IGS, and Bombardier in general.
  • Conduct executive review meetings with the BIS/IGS leadership team and executive account management.
  • Lead the commercial relationship with suppliers and ensure that all services and obligations of the suppliers are provided in accordance with the contract.
  • Collaborate with legal and financial services in case of disputes.
  • Validate service adjustment requests and perform contract changes:
  • Work with BIS to define service adjustments (additions, reductions, or changes).
  • Lead the change process to incorporate service adjustments into the contract with the support of legal, financial, and BIS services.
  • Perform contract renewals, modifications, claims, or terminations.

Conduct audits and benchmarks

  • Manage the use of audit rights to validate the compliance of suppliers with safety directives and others.
  • Perform regular comparative analyses of services and prices to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Report the results of audits and comparative analyses to the BIS and IGS leadership team.

Ensure compliance with Bombardier's obligations

  • Monitor the status of invoice payments and take corrective measures in case of discrepancies.
  • Regularly examine the status of Bombardier's project or service obligations and trigger actions, if necessary.

How will you thrive in this role?

  • You hold a bachelor's and/or master's degree in business, business administration, business law, IT, and/or you have extensive experience in strategic procurement and supply chain management.
  • You have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in IT contract management/procurement (an asset).
  • You have experience in managing IT outsourcing contracts.
  • You have strong knowledge of IT services related to applications, infrastructure, workplaces, and networks.
  • You have experience in a global procurement environment and with service integration interfaces.
  • You understand legal terminology; the ability to draft clauses would be considered an asset.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • You are able to work effectively in English and French on a daily basis.
  • You demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • You are results-oriented, analytical, innovative, and team-oriented.

Note: you must be able to work on-site at least two (2) days per week, sometimes more, depending on the policy in place.
