Sports Montreal is looking for a Tai Chi and/or Qi Gong instructor to teach physical conditioning classes for its upcoming spring session at various sports facilities.

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Activities Coordinator, the person holding this position proposes training sessions for adults, aiming to gradually improve the participants' physical condition and achieve their training goals.

MAIN TASKS

  • Design and plan the course content and deliver it while motivating participants;
  • Assess participants' needs to provide an excellent experience while respecting their pace;
  • Guide participants in achieving their performance goals with appropriate coaching;
  • Be able to correct movements, if necessary;
  • Ensure activities run safely and monitor participants' well-being;
  • Prepare, check, and store required equipment;
  • Provide first aid, if necessary;
  • Perform other tasks related to the job, as requested by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Hold a minimum of 6 months of relevant experience, particularly in physical conditioning – Tai Chi and/or Qi Gong;
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in kinesiology or physical education (asset);
  • Hold a Tai Chi certification (asset);
  • Hold a Qi Gong certification (asset);
  • Hold a current first aid certificate (mandatory – training offered, if necessary);
  • Demonstrated aptitude in group animation and management;
  • Strong sense of listening and customer service;
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision;
  • Good time management and organizational skills;
  • Be punctual, diligent, and professional.

CONDITIONS

  • Part-time contract position;
  • Salary: hourly rate starting at $33.73 (depending on experience);
  • Schedule: to be determined based on the availability of selected candidates;
  • Duration of employment: from September 14 to December 6, 2026 (possibility of renewal for following sessions);
  • Location: Claude-Robillard Sports Complex (1000 avenue Émile-Journault, Montreal, QC H2M 2E7).
