We are looking for an MBU Controller
The MBU Controller supervises finance operations and finance professionals within the Manufacturing Business Unit. This role oversees the collection and analysis of financial information, monitors the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. He/she analyzes and interprets financial data and operational performance indicators to advise and support strategic decision-making, ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory financial policies, and implements financial modeling tools to measure the profitability of projects and the plant and assess the impact of various economic scenarios.
Inventory Management
- Establish and document inventory management procedures in close collaboration with the procurement team
- Drive monthly inventory control and analysis: valuation, movements, slow-moving items, and variance analysis
- Coordinate annual physical inventory and cyclic counts
- Product Costing
- Periodically review standard costs and perform monthly actual cost of goods sold and variance analysis
- Improve systems and processes used for cost of goods sold establishment
- Business Partnership
- Support the plant manager in the development and implementation of performance action plans and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Participate in cost reduction initiatives and monitor their progress
- Develop capital investment (CAPEX) requests and profitability analyses
- Act as a business partner to manufacturing departments: provide information, advise, identify opportunities for profitability improvement, and respond to requests
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare periodic site reports, including financial information and dashboards
- Support the financial analysis of the complete profit and loss statement of the Manufacturing Business Unit
- Collaborate with the general manager of the Manufacturing Business Unit in the development of the annual budget and forecasts
- Support annual audit requests
- Support and assist the monthly closing and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process of the Manufacturing Business Unit
- Assume any other tasks assigned by the Group's Chief Financial Officer
- Human Resource Management Responsibilities
- Recruitment: recruit, select, and integrate talent to meet team needs
- Salary decisions: provide input on compensation recommendations and adjustments
- Training and skill development: ensure team members have access to learning and growth opportunities
- Performance evaluation: set goals, conduct regular meetings, and provide continuous feedback
- Supervision: provide daily guidance and support to direct reports
- Budget: contribute to service budget planning and manage team-related expenses
- Processes and policies: develop, communicate, and enforce team processes and procedures (partial responsibility)
Experience
- 8 years of finance experience in a manufacturing environment, as an independent contributor
- In-depth knowledge of the functional area of finance and service processes
- Experience in inventory management, standard costing, and variance analysis
- First-level management responsibilities: supervise a team primarily composed of para-professional staff, make routine decisions within a group or small service, and hold some authority in personnel management
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (required)
- CPA designation obtained or in progress (an asset)
