The objective of the Global Business Service Unit (GBSU) Canada is to provide daily operational services to Société Générale's investment banking and financing banking entities, as well as their clients, to accelerate their transformation. GBSU distinguishes itself from its competitors by the speed of the agile transformation implemented, the dissemination of a technology and data-oriented culture, the reduction of decision-making delays, and the adoption of a true industrial approach, relying on various teams, cross-functional or aligned with the different lines of business.
The Client Lifecycle and Digital Group (CLD) of Société Générale acts as a cross-functional entity for all B2B clients and oversees the operations and associated IT systems for the entire client lifecycle, including onboarding, reviews, and closing of relationships. The CLD is responsible for the implementation and consistent compliance with SG's local and global KYC policies and procedures, FATCA regulation, and any other regulatory requirements related to the integration of new clients and the annual review of existing clients.
More specifically, the CLD department is looking for a senior KYC specialist to join the team responsible for conducting KYC reviews/updates, determining the required documentation, and performing the necessary due diligence to meet SG's regulatory and internal requirements.
What will be your daily responsibilities?
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AML/CFT/BSA and OFAC/SDN regulations, as well as SG's policies and procedures.
- Develop strong relationships, both locally and globally, with other KYC departments, lines of business, and Compliance.
- Apply SG's KYC procedures to assigned accounts and track their daily progress.
+ Perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD) / Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), including screening controls, for assigned clients.
+ Coordinate the collection of documents from public sources, internal stakeholders, and external clients.
+ Ensure the accuracy and completeness of information and documents provided by lines of business and clients.
+ Maintain high standards of quality and productivity and write clear KYC memos.
- Review and validate KYC memos for high/mid-level risk clients, if applicable.
- Provide timely updates and report any identified issues during KYC onboarding.
- Resolve post-finalization aspects of files, such as error corrections.
- Provide advice and support to the team when necessary.

Required profile
- Ability to apply and question risk-based KYC principles, client risk assessment, and the products used in financing and investment banking and institutional brokerage activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, both locally and internationally, with Compliance, SG's other KYC departments, and lines of business.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Curious mind, capable of identifying issues, managing conflicts, and escalating when necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adherence to deadlines.
- Autonomy in the rapid and appropriate handling of all issues and concerns.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively communicate the results of analyses.
Required experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience in the financial services sector, in a KYC or LCB/FT (AML) role.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or related field.
- ACAMS certification (an asset).

Language skills:
The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person occupying this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners located in the United States.
