The District Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the stores and be accountable for completing all necessary tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of a certain number of stores on a daily basis. This position is crucial at Dollarama and reports directly to the Director of Operations. The District Supervisor oversees all operational activities of 10 to 18 stores, including: daily operations, employee development, merchandising activities, recruitment and training activities, store openings, sales, productivity, workforce, and inventory management reports. He/She is responsible for ensuring the achievement of sales growth objectives for the territory. He/She will manage store managers and indirectly supervise a team of approximately ten (10) employees and more for each store.
Responsibilities
- Direct and execute all operational activities of the territory through store managers;
- Build and recruit a strong team capable of achieving established objectives;
- Execute Dollarama's and its suppliers' programs;
- Responsible for store employee recruitment, performance management, and retention;
- Conduct daily store visits, which involves traveling within your territory and occasionally outside of it for project or meeting participation;
- Manage store resources to maximize results, store appearance, and ensure constant product availability on shelves;
- Achieve, understand, and explain clearly defined performance indicators related to loss prevention, sales, and operational objectives (Shrink, GPS, ADN);
- Provide operational expertise and implement best practices necessary for the company's success through existing programs;
- Promote the company's values in terms of employee and customer respect, profitability, and growth; and
- Open new branches.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a management position in the retail industry, along with 4 years minimum as a Store Manager;
- A Bachelor's degree or a College Diploma in a related field is a considerable asset;
- The candidate must have proven exceptional performance as a Store Manager;
- Must have energy, intellect, dynamism, motivation, charisma, empathy, organizational, time management, decision-making skills, and a keen sense of business to succeed in a high-performance environment where activities are fast-paced;
- Possess a strong team spirit and the ability to achieve high results through mentoring, coaching, communication, employee motivation, and skill development;
- Demonstrate determination in achieving results. Be ready to "roll up your sleeves" and tackle details to achieve success and accelerate the implementation of the action plan;
- Be able to influence colleagues and work collaboratively. Possess good planning and communication skills and be able to establish strong business relationships;
- The selected candidate will need to dedicate approximately 90% of their time to in-store activities and 10% of their time to report analysis, work schedule establishment, and various other administrative tasks. In-store time requires regular presence during the day, evening, and weekends.
