Nutri-Œuf is part of Lovo (formerly Groupe Nutri), owned by Quebec farmers' families since 1987 and one of the most important egg classifiers, processors, and distributors in Canada, with over 2.4 billion eggs classified, processed, and marketed annually and approximately 550 employees in the country. The company has recently launched its new Lovo brand identity — a pivotal step in a transformation that redefines its growth ambition to continue its expansion.

Description

We are looking for a production supervisor for the St-Lambert de Lauzon plant, which has 65 employees and is located 15 minutes from the bridges on the South Shore of Quebec.

Reporting to the plant manager, the production supervisor is responsible for the daily management of the production team comprising 38 employees who hold roles as equipment operators and daily workers. This is a full-day production from Monday to Friday. The role is in a unionized context with positive and collaborative employer/union relations.

The production supervisor ensures the proper organization of work, adherence to production objectives, product quality, safety, and employee mobilization. They play a key role in achieving performance indicators and in the continuous improvement of production processes.

Main responsibilities

• Manage the production employees and maintain a healthy work environment at all times;
• Identify issues inherent to the team's daily operations and propose solutions;
• Calculate and use performance indicators to evaluate the performance of employees in order to optimize the department;
• Plan production based on priorities, schedules, available resources, and operational needs;
• Maintain regular communication with the plant manager and supervisors from other departments and shifts to ensure smooth information flow;
• Ensure compliance with the company's policies and procedures (HACCP/GFSI) as well as health and safety regulations;
• Always ensure the health and safety of the staff;
• Motivate and mobilize the staff, evaluate them, and ensure their development;
• Manage all aspects related to employees (time sheets, integration, training, replacements, etc.);
• Monitor and collaborate on the application of the collective agreement;
• Work closely with other departments and the general management;
• Participate in weekly meetings with employees or management;
• Assume any other responsibilities compatible with the role, as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• Hold a college diploma (DEC) in food sciences, industrial engineering, operations management, or any other relevant combination, with relevant experience;
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar position;
• Strong oral and written communication skills in French;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
• Asset: Experience in the food industry;
• Asset: Knowledge of HACCP/GFSI certification;
• Availability to work between 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM from Monday to Friday.
