Aliments du Québec is looking for its next CEO who will carry out its mission, guide its growth, and actively contribute to the future of Quebec's biofood sector and the products that make Quebec proud.

We shine the spotlight on Quebec's biofood industry. With over 1,800 member companies, 30,000 certified products, 1,000 institutions, and 1,000 recognized restaurants, our mission is clear: to value Quebec products and expertise and promote local purchasing. Working with us means contributing concretely to a unifying cause at the heart of Quebec's economy.

Role

Reporting to the board of directors, the CEO will work closely with the executive team and board members. They will be the carrier of the organization's mission and provide mobilizing leadership to advance initiatives and achieve established goals. They will ensure the development and sustainability of the organization and create a positive impact on Quebec's local food ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Governance, Leadership, and Human Resources Management

Define and implement the organization's vision, strategic plan, and priorities

Collaborate and support the board of directors in fulfilling their governance role for the organization's mission

Mobilize employees and partners around the organization's mission and goals

Foster skill development and succession within the organization

Incarnae and promote organizational values and culture

Financial Management and Reporting

Ensure sound management and oversight of activities, programs, projects, and human, financial (budgets, grants, reporting), and material resources, in accordance with ethical and responsible practices

Ensure the organization's sustainability and resilience by implementing strong internal controls (risk prevention, audit, compliance)

Identify and seize opportunities for development, funding, and visibility to increase the organization's impact

Visibility and External Relations

Develop and maintain partnerships with key players in the industry (federations, associations, groups, producers, companies, institutions, restaurants, etc.)

Represent the organization to various partners, bodies, and media, and at public and industry events

Ensure a quality experience for members and maintain lasting relationships with them

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Seek new avenues for continuous improvement (processes, programs, services)

Anticipate trends and adjust strategies and services accordingly

Drive the organization's digital transformation to improve organizational performance, modernize practices, and support mission achievement

Education and Experience

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
• Graduate degree, an asset

Over 8 years of experience in leadership or management roles, including exposure to a board of directors or similar bodies

Experience in skill development, employee retention, and implementation of best practices for attraction

Experience in public relations (public speaking, media relations, government relations)

Other Requirements

Mobilizing leadership and effective and transparent communication skills

Strong ability to rally internal and external stakeholders around the organization's mission

Ability to translate a long-term vision into concrete directions

Strong financial management and partnership development skills

Excellent knowledge of the local biofood sector

Commitment to sustainability and local purchasing values

Openness to change and ability to seize innovation opportunities

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in French and English

Great proficiency with computer work tools and good mastery of the Office and Outlook suites
