Plan or modify routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) or other navigation devices to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions

Resolve customer complaints and address their concerns

Professionalism in customer service

Organize trips, establish routes and make reservations

Load and unload merchandise

Drive trucks or articulated vehicles to transport goods or materials

Monitor the condition of vehicles and inspect tires, headlights, brakes, refrigerated storage equipment and other equipment

Perform emergency repairs on the road

Inspect trucks before, during and after the trip and monitor all aspects of the vehicles

Perform preventive maintenance

Receive and transmit information to the central dispatcher
