WSP is currently seeking to fill a position for a Professional – Project Manager for Ministerial Authorization and Environmental Management for a regular employment.

Your Impact

Related to the Environmental Management and Risk Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for:

• Coordinate and carry out environmental authorization requests in industrial or mining environments;
• Lead, coordinate, and carry out various projects in risk and environmental management in industrial or mining environments;
• Participate in environmental due diligence reviews during the sale, purchase, and financing of companies;
• Carry out inspections and environmental compliance audits;
• Lead project meetings with clients;
• Participate in the development of emergency response plans and/or technological risk analyses;
• Participate in the conduct of simulation exercises (tabletop and intervention exercises);
• Carry out and participate in projects for the declaration of residual hazardous materials and the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI);
• Ensure that deliverables are completed according to quality standards and within the scheduled deadlines;
• Manage projects, including financial management, scheduling, and communication with clients;
• Lead and participate in the preparation of service proposals;
• Write and/or review technical and scientific reports;
• Review and interpret engineering data and formulate recommendations;
• Perform other related tasks that may help in the completion of projects;
• Meet new clients and promote our environmental management services.

The Skills That Set You Apart

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or other related fields, Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline;
• 10 to 15 years of experience in a similar position;
• Knowledge of the project management environment in industrial or mining settings;
• Experience in preparing authorization requests with the MELCCFP;
• Experience in the environmental impact assessment and social impact assessment process;
• Experience in writing scientific reports and environmental evaluations;
• Experience in conducting inspections, audits, and risk analyses in the environment;
• Experience in emissions declarations according to federal and provincial regulations (NPRI, QEA, or others);
• Good knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and standards;
• Certified Environmental Auditor (CEA®) (an asset);
• Knowledge of the Association of Mining Companies' "Towards Sustainable Mining" program and auditor certification (an asset);
• Experience in environmental due diligence reviews (acquisition or financing projects) (an asset);
• Autonomy, initiative, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, ability to work in a team, and in a dynamic environment;
• Proficiency in French (spoken and written);
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
• ASP Construction – General Health and Safety on Construction Sites certification (an asset);
• Valid driver's license and eligibility for vehicle rental contracts.

Compensation

• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $93,700 – $124,200
• MB & ON: $85,500 – $117,800
• NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $84,700 – $112,400
