What is the opportunity?

The First Director, Innovation, Workforce, is responsible for the overall strategic direction of information production, analysis, and perspectives on workforce within the Workforce Optimization team. You will lead the implementation of the next generation of data-driven improvements to evolve our forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation on a daily basis to ensure that the Operations, Retail Banking, and Commercial Banking teams are able to provide excellent client support in accordance with our customer service commitments. You will also lead the creation and iterative improvement of strategic and tactical information, and leverage your strategic thinking to prepare impactful analyses for all levels, including the Executive level, to inform important business decisions.

What will be your tasks?

  • Represent the Workforce Optimization team as a product owner within the agile teams composed of key partners (e.g., AI and Operational Data Squad, Strategy Teams, National Office)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and support teams, including the Operations Leadership team, Retail Banking, and Commercial Banking Operations teams, as well as the Shared Services and Finance Executive team
  • Prepare concise and effective analyses, reports, and presentations for senior management
  • Support the optimization of the staffing of the Customer Service teams, across all service delivery modes, product groups, and advisor roles
  • Make confident decisions and integrate best practices within parallel teams (e.g., Regional Banking, Contact Centre)
  • Prioritize pending items, define operational requirements, and support stakeholders in short and long-term projects aimed at optimizing the workforce, while balancing customer experience, employee experience, operational flexibility, and profitability
  • Ensure the delivery of key performance analyses on efficiency and productivity (forecasting, scheduling, report production, key performance indicator analysis, etc.)
  • Lead or support the production of standardized reports, analyses, and information to design automated solutions that can be deployed in a common production environment
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders and the Executive team to ensure that final concepts support the overall "IMPACT" strategy of Operations, Retail Banking, and Commercial Banking
  • Design ready-to-use solutions for workforce forecasting and management strategies, and promote the adoption of best practices within the team and across Operations, Retail Banking, and Commercial Banking
  • Advance the Operational Efficiency strategy by maximizing synergies and establishing quality working relationships with professional partners and stakeholders, including guiding cross-functional partners in their contribution to Workforce Optimization
  • Lead projects with a high degree of uncertainty and significant impact on change management, while balancing business objectives with company culture and valuing the services offered to different business segments
  • In this role, you will frequently communicate and interact with partners and colleagues across Canada or worldwide
  • What is required to succeed?

Essential Skills

  • At least five years of progressive leadership experience, with a proven ability to influence partners and deliver tangible results
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Proficiency in report analysis techniques (excellent knowledge of Excel)
  • Knowledge of SQL or versatile programming languages (e.g., Python)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate and meet customer needs
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and act quickly and simply
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others and support their development; behaviors and actions associated with the leadership model

Desired Skills

  • Product Owner certification or agile leadership training
  • MBA or equivalent
