Cultivate, grow, and manage relationships with a network of client referral sources and new leads to generate opportunities for new mortgage sales and increase BMO's share in the housing finance market. Actively identify sales opportunities and recommend them to colleagues, if necessary. Design and implement effective marketing and sales programs to drive organizational results. Adhere to general policies, operational directives, and legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Proactively communicate with client referral sources and identified new leads within the framework of our national partnerships and establish local partnerships to conduct interviews on housing financing solutions.
  • Assist in the implementation of targeted marketing programs, promotions, and other initiatives.
  • Actively seek cross-selling and incentive sales opportunities to enable the branch to achieve its sales and profitability goals.
  • Support the implementation of targeted marketing programs, promotions, and other initiatives.
  • Seek opportunities to expand your network by obtaining referrals and new leads from existing relationships.
  • Establish and enhance BMO's presence in the community by participating in trade shows, conventions, and other related activities.

  • Partner with branch teams to facilitate a smooth transfer of clients for mortgage documentation and to refer clients needing other products besides mortgages.
  • Resolve or escalate issues to higher levels to ensure client expectations are met and funds are disbursed in a timely manner.
  • Provide friendly, courteous, and professional customer service by answering questions and handling information requests to identify client needs for banking products (e.g., current accounts, loans, and investments) and make appropriate referrals to BMO partners.
  • Stay informed about client needs, industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, as well as policies and procedures surrounding products and services.
  • Handle customer service issues according to established parameters and escalate persistent or complex issues to more experienced staff or other services for resolution.
  • Develop solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Advise and guide the business unit or designated operating group on the implementation of solutions.
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the establishment of business priorities and the sequencing of business unit or operating group strategy.
  • Conduct independent analyses and evaluations to resolve strategic issues.
  • Ensure liaison with various BMO teams and clients to ensure the housing finance application is processed and finalized satisfactorily.
  • Document updates in BMO's internal systems to ensure all employees have access to information regarding opportunities, transactions, and ongoing issues.
  • Analyze data and information to provide ideas and recommendations.
  • Collect data and format it to produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
  • Provide feedback on the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Perform routine tasks (e.g., processing service requests, transactions, and inquiries) while adhering to relevant service level agreements.
  • Organize information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with third parties to establish strong relationships that generate mortgage referrals and new leads for clients needing mortgage solutions.
  • Perform all necessary transactions in accordance with guidelines and other requirements to maintain operational integrity.
  • Possibly focus on a specific business unit or operating group.
  • Think creatively and propose new solutions.
  • Exercise judgment to identify issues, determine their causes, and resolve them within established limits.
  • Generally work independently.

Qualifications

  • Generally three to five years of relevant professional experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In the case of a lender-qualified position, credit qualifications and skills and knowledge associated with credit, in accordance with credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of self-management and teamwork, personal loans, and business relationship management.
  • Functional knowledge of personal banking services, investments, trust services, small business and corporate loans, and cash management.
  • Very good knowledge of the real estate sector and the mortgage market.
  • Strong negotiation skills.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the position and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time positions will be calculated on a prorated basis of regularly worked hours.
