Main Role of the Advisor (Temporary Term of Up to 18 Months)

Under the authority of the Director of Human Resources, the advisor performs advisory, research, and analytical tasks in the following areas: job classification and determination, job funding, occupational health and safety, work-life balance, compensation, workforce management, working conditions, training, organizational development, change management, and work organization. The Human Resources Advisor ensures the application of legislative, regulatory, and collective agreement texts in these areas.

Main Responsibilities

Briefly, the main tasks and responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Advise and support the management team across all areas of human resources expertise;
  • Represent the organization to union partners and associations;
  • Actively collaborate in the preparation and updating of policies, methods, and procedures for various services, and ensure their implementation;
  • Support managers in the development of their management skills;
  • Actively participate in the hiring and internal mobility process;
  • Develop and coordinate the production of management information for reporting in human resources management (management dashboard);
  • Advise and support the authorities of the SFPQ in the implementation of strategic orientations, regulations, directives, and policies governing the personnel management framework, and propose action strategies for the resulting processes.
  • More specifically, the incumbent will:
  • Contribute to the mandates of the Human Resources Department;
  • Participate in various labor relations or professional committees, occupational health and safety, work environment, and other work committees;
  • Manage the follow-up of grievance arbitration files;
  • Coordinate the administrative management of occupational health and safety, attendance, disabilities, and retirement processes of SFPQ personnel (including elected officials);
  • Develop, follow up, and evaluate training plans according to the organization's needs and organize training sessions;
  • Be a positive vector in change management and inspire mobilization;
  • Represent the employer before various administrative courts, if necessary;
  • Perform any other tasks related to the field of expertise.

They must demonstrate a high capacity for adaptation, political acumen, and excellent decision-making skills. Additionally, they must possess skills for staff mobilization and process optimization.

Work Conditions and Other Benefits

The Human Resources Advisor position is part of Class 10 of the office staff salary scale, ranging from $82,238 to $103,934 per year. Excellent work conditions are also offered:

  • Required Qualifications
  • The incumbent must meet the following requirements:
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in human resources management, industrial relations, or business administration (human resources profile);
  • Accumulate five years of experience in human resources management;
  • Possess excellent mastery of spoken and written French;
  • Be a member of the *Order of Certified Human Resources Advisors*.
