A Quebec-based manufacturing company located in Joliette, Groupe Synetik designs and manufactures equipment for children with disabilities as well as industrial and welding seats for the manufacturing sector. The Operations Director plays a key role in Synetik's success. Reporting directly to the President, he or she oversees all production, supply chain, and quality control activities. This field leader ensures that operations run efficiently, that teams are mobilized, and that the company's growth — including internationally — is built on solid foundations and robust processes.
Main Responsibilities
Production
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all production activities, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and performance objectives are met
- Optimize production flows and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Manage and mobilize production teams; foster a healthy, safe, and engaged work environment
- Ensure the availability of human, material, and equipment resources
Supply Chain
- Supervise procurement and vendor relations with the support of the existing team
- Implement and optimize supply chain strategies to meet growth needs, including internationally
- Manage inventory levels and minimize stockouts or surpluses
- Negotiate agreements with key suppliers
Quality Control
- Define, implement, and maintain quality control processes at all stages of production
- Ensure final products meet customer specifications and requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality
- Manage non-conformities, track corrective actions, and implement preventive measures
Leadership and Strategic Management
- Actively contribute to the company's strategic planning
- Support Synetik's international growth by adapting operations to new realities
- Collaborate closely with the President to align operations with business objectives
- Develop dashboards and performance indicators (KPIs) for decision-making
- Desired Profile
Education and Experience
- University degree in industrial engineering, operations management, administration, or related field (an asset)
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in operations management, with a significant portion in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a SME context (a considerable asset)
- Experience with international operations (an asset)
Skills and Qualities
- Motivational leadership: ability to inspire, develop, and retain teams
- Sharp organizational skills, rigor, and attention to detail
- Strategic vision combined with a strong field orientation
- Mastery of Lean principles, continuous improvement, or other optimization methods
- Excellent communication skills in French and English
- Agility and ability to adapt to a rapidly growing environment
- Genuine interest in Synetik's mission: designing equipment that concretely improves the lives of children with disabilities and manufacturing sector workers
