As a Mechanical Engineer / Designer, you will be a designer within a team of engineers from various disciplines (process, mechanical, electrical). You will be responsible for the 3D modeling and layout of our liquid process systems, from concept to fabrication in our workshop.
YOUR CRITICAL TASKS
- Model in 3D process piping networks, skids, and equipment on Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks, based on P&IDs and inputs from the engineering team.
- Produce 2D piping drawings: general arrangements, fabrication and installation isometrics, detail drawings.
- Produce complete fabrication layouts: Bill of Materials (BOM), cut lists, welding symbols, tolerances, and surface finishes.
- Design systems in co-design with our clients: iterate on concepts, integrate their installation constraints and standards.
- Integrate supplier components (STEP files, catalogs) and existing site conditions (surveys) into the model.
- Coordinate 3D models with various stakeholders (clients, other disciplines, subcontractors) through the Autodesk environment or other exchange platforms.
- Coordinate fabrication with the workshop: transmit drawings and answer workshop questions.
OTHER CHALLENGES
- Professional development: Continuously improve internal CAD tools: drawing templates, styles, component library (Content Center), parametric parts, automations (iLogic).
- Manage the Autodesk Vault: project structure, revisions, file lifecycle, team best practices.
- Act as the company's CAD reference: define and maintain drawing standards, support engineers who model occasionally.
- Participate in design reviews with engineers and clients, and incorporate changes during the project.
- Verify the constructibility of designs with the fabrication team before issuing drawings.
PROFILE REQUIRED
- DEC in Mechanical Engineering Techniques or equivalent training.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical drawing and design.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks;
