We are looking for an Intermediate Electronic Technician - Digital Specialization to join our Satellite Systems team at our Montreal office.

Role

The Intermediate Electronic Technician - Digital Specialization is the first level of qualified work. They may request supervision from more experienced technicians or technical staff/engineers, perform various tasks related to established systems or new tasks of medium complexity. Work from written directives or general instructions and participate in the testing of complex production units and systems.

Responsibilities / Tasks

Under the mentorship of more experienced technicians or technical staff, the intermediate technician will:

  • Program PROMs and FPGAs.
  • Perform bench testing with signal generators, oscilloscopes, differential probes, digital circuit analyzers, logic analyzers, and complementary equipment (e.g., serial link, power supply, etc.).
  • Test electronic assemblies with various test scripts or using manual measurement techniques.
  • Perform thermal and vacuum thermal testing of various sub-assemblies and electronic units.
  • Assemble and modify developmental electronic circuits from specific directives.
  • Perform assembly, modification, and verification of test benches and/or test equipment.
  • Perform assembly, modification, and verification of cable harnesses.
  • Record data related to test results or experiments.
  • Install tested electronic assemblies in their test fixtures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to the testing of electronic assemblies.
  • Follow and understand flight test processes.
  • Execute work according to internal procedures and in compliance with our health and safety regulations.
  • Perform other related tasks.

Qualifications

  • DEC or equivalent in mechanical engineering, electromechanical, electrical, electronic, or related field, as assigned.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in spoken and written French. Knowledge of English is an asset (Responds to calls from English-speaking employees. Reports directly to the headquarters in Ontario).
  • Comments / Special Considerations:

Selected candidates must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the reliability rating level and pass the security evaluation for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
