About the Position

The senior cheese technician uses specialized science and knowledge of dairy products to maximize the production of cheese, melted cheese, and ingredients. The specialist participates in the commissioning, startup of new projects, formulations, and product development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures the supervision of cheesemakers and operators by providing daily work guidance to optimize cheese yield and reduce losses.
• Supervises the diverse range of cheese products in terms of their processing, raw materials, and quality parameters to meet customer needs by monitoring overall cheese quality, the cheese-making process, and providing technical direction to improve or correct product quality and parameters.
• Evaluates and implements new ideas for cheese and milk ingredients. Develops appropriate technical solutions for the dairy product group (GPL) by involving scientific fields to grow the commercial sales of the Parmalat product range by reducing costs and improving quality.
• Participates in project design; ensures appropriate information for experimental trials and results to facilitate upgrading. Performs analysis and trials to identify new projects in collaboration with the Research and Development department and technical teams. Facilitates communication between the R&D/technical groups and the plant management on the implementation of cheese technical projects.
• In collaboration with the GPL and R&D, maximizes the effective use of out-of-specification material costs in cheese product manufacturing.
• Supports continuous improvement (CI) and return on investment (ROI) projects by providing technical support, reporting progress, and tracking.
• Manages projects on cheese technology incorporating ingredients to maximize yield and operational cost efficiency.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Sciences (Food Sciences and Dairy Products preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five (5) years of experience in the dairy products industry, including strong technical and cheese treatment backgrounds.
• Bilingual, French and English an asset
• Product development knowledge
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Communication skills, both verbal and written, paired with strong interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of food ingredient technology and food regulation.
• Proficiency with standard office technology such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft suite.

Compensation:

In line with our commitment to equity, trust, and transparency, and our ambition to be a top employer, the base salary range for this position is between $88,400 and $110,500+.

Note: In addition to a complete set of social benefits, your actual base salary will be fair, competitive, and based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.

Pay: $88,400.00-$110,500.00 per year
